Wendy Dimick-Smith Biography
I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil in my left hand. I am currently an art teacher at Northridge High School in Layton, Utah. I have been a high school art teacher for the past 28 years. I truly love my job and am amazed at all the talented teenagers I teach to watercolor, paint with acrylics, draw, and throw pots.
Besides my love of art, I am an avid hiker, biker, runner, snowboarder, water skier, and swimmer. I enjoy Utah’s snow and red rocks to the fullest extent! I have spent many weekends/summers painting murals of our unique landscape for different venues. I very rarely go a day without picking up a paint brush- art is a huge part of my life. On top of my many mural jobs, I so enjoy drawing/painting portraits- especially of my own children. The walls of my home are filled with my creations. I am very experienced with all art mediums.
I am a very ambitious artist. I paint to make people feel good. I receive such satisfaction, when clients come to pick up their paintings; they get misty-eyed when they see my version of their children. I feel that I have a unique gift/method for combining several pictures into one, large montage and making it flow/harmonize.
